Toy Cleaners & Essentials

A limpiador de juguetes sexuales is not the same as hand soap, and the difference is in the pH and residue. It is formulated to not leave a film on the silicone, to not dry out the material and to have a pH compatible with the skin in the area. That is why it is advisable to have one, although for many materials water and neutral soap also work.

What to look for in the formula

Without alcohol, without perfume and without dyes, it is the combination that causes the least problems. Alcohol dries out silicone and TPE with repeated use, and perfume is mainly responsible for irritation in the area.

A pH close to that of the skin prevents discomfort if any remains remain. And if the product declares antibacterial action, better with an indicated contact time, because disinfecting is not just wiping with a cloth and rinsing the second.

When it is necessary and when it is not

For silicone, ABS, glass or steel toys, warm water and neutral soap are perfect for everyday use. The specific cleaner provides comfort, quick drying and a formula designed to leave no residue.

Where it does become important is in porous materials such as TPE, in shared toys and in motorized parts that cannot be submerged. There a spray allows you to clean without wetting the electronics.

The routine that avoids problems

Clean before and after each use, not just after. Dust in the drawer and traces of old lubricant are reason enough to rinse first.

Changing the toy or changing areas of the body means cleaning in between, or using a condom on the toy, especially when moving from the anal to the vaginal area. And if you share it with another person, that rule is non-negotiable.

Drying and storing

Dry with a clean, lint-free or air-dried cloth, and make sure the crevices and suction cup bases are dry on the inside, because this is where moisture accumulates.

Store each piece in its cloth bag, separate from other silicone ones, in a cool place without direct light. Never in a closed plastic bag, which retains moisture. Exclusive sale for people over 18 years of age.

What to look for in the formula

A good cleaner is water-based, alcohol-free and fragrance-free, with a pH close to neutral and without agents that leave a residue. Alcohol dries out the silicone with repeated use and perfume adds an unnecessary ingredient to a sensitive area.

Antibacterial cleaners add a specific agent and make sense on parts that are shared or used anally. For the rest, the simple formula works the same and is gentler on the materials.

Formats and which one to use

The spray is the most practical for everyday use: you apply it, let it sit for a few seconds and rinse it off. Foam covers embossed surfaces better and wipes solve when there is no access to a tap, although they are not a substitute for a complete wash.

Renovating powders are not cleaners: they are applied after drying on TPE parts to restore the dry feel. They are complementary products and it is advisable to have both if porous materials are used.

The routine that avoids problems

Wash before first use and after each session, without exceptions. In pieces for anal use, or when moving from one area to another, cleaning is mandatory and a quick rinse is not enough.

Complete air drying is as important as washing, because moisture trapped in a gasket or charging port is what ends up causing problems. Then, place each piece in its cloth bag, without the silicone surfaces touching each other.

Frequently asked questions

Is hand soap worth it?

For silicone, glass or steel, a neutral, unscented soap works. The specific cleaner is formulated to leave no residue and dry faster.

How often is it cleaned?

Before and after each use, and always when changing person or when moving from the anal to the vaginal area.

Can motorized toys be submerged?

Only if they are watertight. With splash-resistant ones, use spray or wipe and avoid getting the charging port wet.

Which formula is better?

Alcohol-free, fragrance-free and with a pH close to that of the skin. Alcohol dries out silicone and perfume is the most common cause of irritation.

How are they saved later?

Completely dry, in a cloth bag, separated from each other and in a cool place. Never in closed plastic, which retains moisture.
